Nashik Kumbh 2027 parva snan calendar

Last updated:

This is the full time table of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, from the flag hoisting in October 2026 to the close in July 2028. Every date here comes from the official NTKMA Kumbh Mela Plan (June 2026) or the schedule announced at the Chief Minister's meeting with the akhadas on 1 June 2025. Some websites list different dates. These are the official ones. "Shahi Snan" is now officially called "Amrit Snan", a change decided at that same 1 June 2025 meeting (ANI). This is an independent guide, not an official website.

The three Amrit Snans at a glance

These are the biggest bathing days, according to the NTKMA plan:

  • 1st Amrit Snan: Monday 2 August 2027, Ashadh Somvati Amavasya. At Ramkund in Nashik and Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar.
  • 2nd Amrit Snan (Mahakumbh Snan): Tuesday 31 August 2027, Shravan Amavasya. At Nashik and Trimbakeshwar.
  • 3rd Amrit Snan, Nashik: Saturday 11 September 2027, Bhadrapada Shuddha Ekadashi. At Ramkund, for the Vaishnav akhadas.
  • 3rd Amrit Snan, Trimbakeshwar: Sunday 12 September 2027, Bhadrapada Shuddha Dwadashi (Vaman Dwadashi). At Kushavarta, for the Shaiva akhadas.

Note that 2 August is Ashadh Somvati Amavasya and 31 August is Shravan Amavasya. Some pages mix these up.

On Amrit Snan days, private vehicles will stop at outer parking and the Ramkund and Trimbak temple areas become walking-only zones. See how to reach.

The start: October 2026

  • Friday 30 October 2026: Gram Pradakshina in Nashik, before the flag hoisting. Lokmat Times reported (27 Sep 2026) that about one lakh devotees are expected and the route is still being finalised. Religious programmes are reported for 30 October to 1 November at Ramkund.
  • Saturday 31 October 2026, 12:02 PM: Dhwajarohan (flag hoisting). This is the formal start of the Simhastha. Flags go up at the same moment at Ramkund in Panchavati, Nashik, and at Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar. The date and places are in the NTKMA plan. Kumbh Mela Minister Girish Mahajan confirmed the 12:02 PM muhurat on record (eSakal, 19 Sep 2026) and said President Droupadi Murmu is expected to attend.

Kushavarta Tirth has been closed to pilgrims for renovation since 30 September. Collector Ayush Prasad said the closure runs to 30 October (Times of India, 29 Sep 2026). Lokmat Times (4 Oct 2026) reported it will reopen on 31 October.

More details are on our Dhwajarohan 2026 page.

Major Mela Period: June to September 2027

The NTKMA plan names 15 June to 30 September 2027 as the "Major Mela Period", 107 days in all. All three Amrit Snans fall in this period. Key dates in this period:

  • Saturday 24 July 2027: Sadhugram (akhada) flag hoisting, Ashadh Krishna Panchami, at Sadhugram.
  • Thursday 29 July 2027: Nagar Pradakshina, Ashadh Krishna Ekadashi, in Nashik. This is a procession around the city, not a snan.
  • Monday 2 August 2027: 1st Amrit Snan (Nashik and Trimbakeshwar)
  • Thursday 12 August 2027: special parva day (Nashik)
  • Tuesday 17 August 2027: special parva day (Nashik)
  • Saturday 28 August 2027: special parva day (Nashik)
  • Tuesday 31 August 2027: 2nd Amrit Snan, Mahakumbh Snan (Nashik and Trimbakeshwar)
  • Saturday 11 September 2027: 3rd Amrit Snan, Nashik (Ramkund)
  • Sunday 12 September 2027: 3rd Amrit Snan, Trimbakeshwar (Kushavarta)

The 24 July, 29 July and the three August parva days come from the schedule announced on 1 June 2025 (ETV Bharat Marathi; also PTI via Rediff for Nagar Pradakshina).

Other parvani dates: Nashik

The Simhastha does not end in September 2027. Bathing days continue until July 2028. The timeline graphic in the NTKMA plan shows these Nashik parvani dates, among others:

  • 28 October 2027: Shuddha Pornima
  • 27 December 2027: Somvati Amavasya
  • 27 January 2028: Shuddha Pratipada
  • 1 February 2028: Vasant Panchami
  • 9 March 2028: Shuddha Pornima
  • 5 April 2028: Shuddha Ekadashi
  • 28 May 2028: Vidya Amavasya
  • 2 June 2028: Ganga Dashahara

Other parvani dates: Trimbakeshwar

For Trimbakeshwar, the same NTKMA graphic shows:

  • 14 October 2027: Kojagiri Pornima
  • 13 November 2027: Tripurari Pornima
  • 21 March 2028: Papmochani Ekadashi
  • 27 April 2028: Akshay Tritiya
  • 1 May 2028: Ganga Janmotsav

For Kushavarta, temple visits and the new ghats, see Trimbakeshwar Kumbh 2027.

The close and the total period

The NTKMA plan gives two different closing dates (Simhastha Samapti):

  • Nashik: Saturday 29 July 2028
  • Trimbakeshwar: Monday 24 July 2028

The plan puts the total mela period at 20 months and 3 weeks (632 days). Other figures have been quoted: Girish Mahajan said "22 months" (eSakal, 19 Sep 2026), and some newspapers wrote 21 months. We follow the NTKMA plan.

How many parvani muhurats?

Apart from the main days, there are extra bathing muhurats through the mela. The sources do not agree on the number for Trimbak:

  • NTKMA plan (June 2026): 44 additional parvani muhurats in Nashik and 35 in Trimbak.
  • Schedule of 1 June 2025 (ETV Bharat Marathi): 53 for Trimbak.

We show both until an official list clears this up.

Snan timings and wrong date lists

  • Amrit Snan timings (hours) have not been published yet. Any list of exact bathing hours is a guess for now.
  • Some sites list different dates. One national news site printed a list in June 2025 with a different flag hoisting date, a different first Amrit Snan and a February 2028 close. Every official source contradicts it.
  • Another site gives the wrong weekdays: 31 August 2027 is a Tuesday and 11 September 2027 is a Saturday.

The dates on this page are the official ones. For a shorter list, see Kumbh 2027 dates.
