NMC Standing Committee Clears About ₹3.29 Crore for Tapovan Sadhugram: Internal Roads, Water, Drainage, Power and Mandaps for the Akhadas

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has approved facilities inside the Tapovan Sadhugram, where the akhadas will camp during the Simhastha. REPORTED: this is from Navbharat (28 October). We have not seen the standing committee resolution itself.

What was approved

• Amount: about ₹3.29 crore, approved by the NMC standing committee.
• Work: internal roads, water supply, drainage, electricity and mandaps in the Sadhugram at Tapovan.
• Who it is for: saints, mahants and khalsas of the Digambar, Nirmohi and Nirvani akhadas expected to stay there.
• Tender: NMC's construction department ran an online tender. Seven bids came in and five were found eligible. The lowest was from M/s Sanjay Vasudev Gadakh, which puts the construction cost at ₹3,22,98,017, with up to ₹5,97,751 for architect fees.

No completion date was given in the report.

Background

Why it matters

• For pilgrims, nothing changes yet. This is about the camps of the akhadas, not public facilities.
• It is a small amount next to the overall Kumbh budget. What matters is whether the work order follows quickly, since the akhadas will need these camps ready before the Amrit Snan dates in August and September 2027.
