Amrit Snan Dates Confirmed: 2 August, 31 August and 11–12 September 2027

The Simhastha's three royal baths are fixed. The final one is split across two days, Nashik on 11 September, Trimbakeshwar on 12 September, and a city-wide Nagar Pradakshina precedes the first on 29 July 2027.

The schedule for the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Simhastha has been settled, and it answers the question most pilgrims ask first: which mornings actually matter.

The Simhastha opens on 31 October 2026 with Dhwajarohan, flag hoisting at Trimbakeshwar, Ram Kund and Panchavati. That ceremony is the formal invitation to the akhadas and to every visitor, and everything that follows is counted from it.

On 29 July 2027 Nashik holds the Nagar Pradakshina, the ceremonial circumambulation of the city, four days before the bathing season proper begins. The first Amrit Snan falls on 2 August 2027. The second, and the one most often described as the heart of the Simhastha, is on 31 August 2027. The third is split across two days by long-standing arrangement: Nashik bathes on 11 September and Trimbakeshwar on 12 September.

That split is not an administrative convenience. The Vaishnav akhadas bathe at Ram Kund in Nashik and the Shaivite akhadas at Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar, and the two have been kept apart, in place and now in date, for generations, precisely to keep the peace between orders whose precedence disputes were once settled less peacefully.

The Simhastha does not end with the bathing. It runs on until 24 July 2028, some twenty-one months after the flags went up.

If you are planning a visit, the practical reading is this: the three Amrit Snan mornings will be the most crowded hours of the entire event, and everything about them, transport, road closures, ghat access, will be managed differently from an ordinary day. A quieter darshan is available on almost any other date of those twenty-one months.
