- Media report30–31 October in Nashik: Parking Grounds Named, Liquor Shops Shut Within 2 km of Ramkund, City Buses and Six Ambulances for the Flag HoistingNashik traffic police have named the grounds kept for parking during the 30 October Gram Pradakshina and the 31 October flag hoisting, and have asked the NMC not to allow firecracker or other stalls there, Sakal reported on 23 October. A revised Collector's order shuts liquor shops within 2 km of Ramtirth and across Trimbakeshwar municipal limits on 30 and 31 October. The Times of India reports special city buses to Ramkund and six ambulances on 31 October. A second report gives a different procession route and 21 tableaux instead of 10.

A local channel reports that President Murmu is likely to come with three helicopters and may also visit Trimbakeshwar, though her final programme has not been announced. Kumbh Commissioner Shekhar Singh now puts the Maha Goda Aarti at 6,559 tribal participants from seven talukas. In Trimbak, the National Monuments Authority has cleared road repairs around the temple.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation will run anti-encroachment squads on the route and around the ghats from 24 to 29 October, TOI reported on 22 October. Police held a full rehearsal at Ramkund the same day. Reports give 2 PM and 3 PM as the start time.

PTI and UNI reported on 22 October that a basic, static version of the official Kumbh website will go live at the 31 October flag hoisting. Its address has not been announced.

Nashik city police are holding full rehearsals for the procession, flag hoisting and Goda Aarti on 21–22 October.
Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027 in brief
The Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela opens with flag hoisting (Dhwajarohan) on 31 October 2026. The main Amrit Snans (formerly Shahi Snans) are on 2 August 2027, 31 August 2027 and 11 September 2027 (Nashik) / 12 September 2027 (Trimbakeshwar). Pilgrims bathe in the Godavari at Ramkund in Panchavati, Nashik, and at Kushavarta in Trimbakeshwar. The Simhastha formally closes in July 2028.

Four drops fell to earth
In the chase that followed, four drops spilled from the kalash, at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain and here, on the Godavari at Nashik. Each place became a Kumbh.

When is the Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027?
The Simhastha opens with flag hoisting on 31 October 2026 at 12:02 PM. Amrit Snans: 2 August 2027, 31 August 2027 and 11 September 2027 (Nashik) / 12 September 2027 (Trimbakeshwar). It closes at Trimbakeshwar on 24 July 2028 and in Nashik on 29 July 2028. Every date, including the other bathing days, is on the Important Dates page.
Where exactly is the Kumbh Mela held in Nashik?
There are two main bathing sites: Ramkund on the Godavari in the Panchavati area of Nashik city, where the Vaishnava akhadas bathe, and the Kushavarta tank in Trimbakeshwar, where the Shaiva akhadas bathe. The akhadas' sadhus camp at Sadhugram in Nashik. There are more ghats along the Godavari near Ramkund.
How do I reach Nashik for the Kumbh Mela?
By train: according to PIB, Railways are developing five stations for the Kumbh: Nashik Road, Devlali, Odha, Kherwadi and Kasbe Sukene. No special-train timetable has been published yet. By air: Nashik's airport is Ozar airport at Janori. On Amrit Snan days private vehicles will be stopped outside the city and buses will carry pilgrims in.
